THE FIRST ISSUE: COPING EFFECTIVELY WITH CHANGE
Reading assignment:

Text: Chapter 1 - Introduction to Human Relations

Cicero Lecture Series - Organizational Change
Team Activity
Essay: How has having to deal with change impacted your career (your life)? How are the "total person concept" and the issues of change presented in the lecture series related? see guidelines  due Tuesday 1/29

Please note that you can e-mail work or turn in during class. Any e-mailed assignments should be sent to buad45@ciceros-pillar.com. Make sure your name appears somewhere in the e-mail header.

The essay questions demand a comprehensive answer. Don't shortcut with one sentence or a yes, no type of answer. Reference the text and/or lecture series in your answer (a page number in parenthesis is a good reference).  For example: . . . in dealing with crows Maslow via Charlie Brown says, don't bother (p.1216). Use your own ideas in your essay answers . . . but the answers also need to show that you also have an understanding of the materials in the text. Even though many of your answers may take on a very personal tone, make sure you back your thoughts up with some reference to the materials. It's okay to disagree with the text and your position on any issue does not have to be something I agree with (as long as your reasoning is sound).

I do not give you extensive feedback unless there is a problem. If your essay does not meet the criteria I will try to give you specific feedback. I also tend to comment on the essay if you make a particularly interesting point.

You should also note that assignments are due on Tuesdays. This is so you have a day after the weekend to complete things and I have most of the rest of the week to grade them. Tuesdays are a win/win day and may give us both free weekends! I try very hard not to work on the weekend.
